Flying Dutchman

Kuyt is starting to show us why he's so highly rated by many football managers. It's to Rafa's credit we managed to get him playing for Liverpool.

Two simple goals really but so simple they actually exemplified Kuyt's ability as an all-round striker. Perhaps his heading needs some work but otherwise he's as good a striker as any you can see in the EPL now.

All he needs is for the Liverpool supporting players to know how to fire in crosses that find him, or Crouch.

And I remember Rafa saying that it won't be until November that we'll get to see the "real" Liverpool. So Arsenal away next eh?

Jamie Carragher's 300 games for Liverpool

Well done, lad! Jamie Carragher, arguably one of the finest defenders in English football celebrated his landmark 300th games with Liverpool (his only club) last Sat when they played Reading at Anfield.

A local boy made good.

Jamie and Steven Gerrard with the Euro Cup won in 2005

He's only 28 so there's every chance he'll surpass the 500th games landmark, and mind you not many players - past or present - can reach this landmark.

Rotation is the new Zonal Marking

Alrite if you are still wondering whether Rotation is a good or bad thin', wonder no more. Read Paul Tomkin's debunking of the myth surrounding Liverpool... but then it's always sensationalism that sells newspaper.

Paul debunk the myths not with emotions, feelings or opinions - all of which can be subjective - but with simple cold hard facts (ouch)

On Zonal Marking
"In 2005/06 the Reds conceded only four league goals from corners and indirect free-kicks; or one every nine games, compared with Chelsea, the next-best team, and their rate of one every six games."

On Luis Garcia being a luxury
"However, last season he was 'directly involved' in more Liverpool goals per-90 minutes of Premiership football than any other player (involvement being based on the final three players to touch the ball in the scoring of any goal). "

On Steven Gerrard being better placed in the center (than right)
"But Liverpool won by far the most points (in all competitions, using three points for cup wins as well) when he was on the right wing: 2.30 per game, compared with 1.89 when central."

.... and a lot more. Go read his article now.

RPM no joke lor

Poor Yan was nursing a swollen knee last nite, probably suffered while she was kneeing down when working on her laptop while at home (always thot the coffee table was at funny height!) and then excarbating it with the intense RPM workout.

What is RPM?

Note: This is not Yan's knees but I thot some pics help to liven up the blog. :P

She was not even able to walk properly and had to rely on a chair-on-coaster to move around! wat-to-do... that's the "price" you gotta pay if you exercise over-n-above your stretch-point simply becoz the instructor is cute and has nice bums.... hohoho..

But anyhow we did manage to finish watching one disc of 24 S4. :)

Finally back on winning track...

After some bad weeks where Liverpool just couldn't seem to win any matches (and Rafa's Rotation Policy is called into question again), we finally starting winning matches, 3-1 at Aston Villa, 3-0 Bordeaux and hopefully another win this Sat with Reading........

Not just wins but playing some good football as well.

But gosh... look at Riise (left) after the head butt from a Brazilian Bordeaux player (who obviously was given the red card)!

Added: Read this from The Echo and thot it'll help to explain why Riise didn't throw the ball back to Bordeaux. Liverpool has always been known to be sporting, and here it seems FIFA needs to step in and ensure some of the rule "variants" are applied across the board and not just in a local league.

"Premiership players have been advised to abandon the goodwill gesture of throwing the ball back to opponents following treatment to injured players, unless ordered to do so by the referee.

The new code isn't applied in Europe, which explains why John Arne Riise caused mayhem by attempting to claim an advantage." ~~The Echo
